Lebanon — The restaurant options in Lebanon have increased again. Parky’s Smokehouse opened its doors Wednesday afternoon. And judging by the constant flow of customers and smiles on their faces, the restaurant is a welcome addition. Restaurant co-owner Gary Parks said he and his wife and co-owner, Julie Parks, felt that Lebanon was in dire need of a non-fast-food family restaurant. “It was an opportunity to serve the community’s need for casual dining,” Parks said. “Look around town. There really are no real restaurants for people to go to around here.”

Apparently the Parks’ aren’t the only ones to notice the need as the restaurant’s debut comes a week after Relics Food & Spirits Family Dining opened on South Street in Lebanon. First-day customers at Parky’s also seemed to be in agreement with Parks’ assessment of Lebanon’s need for higher-quality restaurants. “How much does Lebanon need restaurants like these? On a scale of zero to 10, a 10,” Kay French of Lebanon said. “Lebanon’s been needing something like this for a while.” While the building itself and service it provides is certainly appreciated, what matters most is the quality of service and food. And so far, everyone is giving the place high marks. “The reactions all day have been great,” Parks said. “Everyone seems real pleased so far. The food looks great,” Gary French said. “And the service has been really good, too.”
